How do I know which French course matches my level?
Take our free online placement test. It assesses your reading, grammar and vocabulary, and the Alliance Française de Genève then recommends the right level, from A1 (beginner) to C2.
Can I take French classes online?
Yes. The Alliance Française de Genève teaches mainly online, with certified teachers and interactive live classes. In-person lessons are available on request: contact us to discuss the arrangements.
Who are the French courses for?
Everyone: adults and teenagers from age 15 in group classes, children and adults in private lessons, and companies with tailor-made training. We also offer themed workshops and language stays in France.
How much does a French course cost in Geneva?
An intensive course costs CHF 1,800 for 60 hours (CHF 30 per hour) and an evening course CHF 480 for 12 hours. Private lessons cost CHF 80 per hour online, with packages from CHF 55 per hour.
Can I take the DELF or DALF at the Alliance Française de Genève?
The Alliance Française de Genève is not an official exam centre at the moment, but it offers preparation courses for the DELF, DALF, TCF and TEF, whether for naturalisation, work or studies.
Do you prepare for the fide test for a Swiss residence permit or naturalisation?
Yes. Private lessons are tailored to the fide test: oral and written practice at the level required for your permit or naturalisation (A1 to B1).
